The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) will exhibit works from Paris fashion house Schiaparelli in its annual Triennial for 2023.

Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry (pictured) has been invited by the NGV to present a selection of works from recent collections alongside a collection of gilded surrealist accessories and body adornment.

Schiaparelli will be hosted alongside 100 other artists, designers and collectives for the NGV Triennial 2023, an international contemporary art exhibition that focuses on the modern day.

Other artists in the exhibition include Aboriginal Australian artist Betty Muffler, with her work Ngangkari Ngura (Healing Country), Polish-born Agnieszka Pilat who will train Boston Dynamic robot dogs to paint autonomously, and multimedia artist Yoko Ono.

NGV director Tony Ellwood AM said it has been three years since the last NGV Triennial.

“The NGV Triennial offers a powerful insight into the ideas and concerns empowering creative practice in 2023,” Ellwood said.

“The artists, designers and architects of our time play an important role in helping us to understand, navigate and relate to the world around us.

“The 2023 NGV Triennial offers audiences a valuable opportunity to experience new and surprising forms of creative expression from around the globe, which, together, present a compelling snapshot of the world as it is, while also asking how we would like it to be.”

The NGV Triennial will be on display from December 3, 2023 to April 7, 2024 at NGV International. Entry is free.
