New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW) will unleash key changes this year, as it launches its 18th edition next month.
In response to the needs of many designers, the event will restructure its presentation formats.
A new adaptable presentation space - The Studio - willl replace the smaller showroom of past years.
The Studio has been designed to give designers the ability to present their collections in a multitude of ways - from a 240-capacity runway to an installation or seminar space.
These new spaces, alongside a purpose-built Trade Space and the option to host both offsite and on schedule shows, will solidify the move.
The event will feature designers at every level from industry heavyweights 27 Names, Hailwood, Huffer, Kathryn Wilson, Knuefermann, Stolen Girlfriends Club and Trelise Cooper, to recent grads and emerging talent via the New Generation platform
The schedule also features three Contemporary Salon designers, Jarrad Godman, Not For You and Ryan Turner, each presenting solo shows for the first time on the NZFW catwalk.
The Contemporary Salon category offers wrap around production support to designers still at the early stages of their career, but established enough to show solo at NZFW.
Rising stars like Georgia Alice and Meadowlark will be showcasing their collections via smaller, highly curated off-site activations.
International delegates to the event will include media and buyers from Australia, Hong Kong and China, with US representatives to be confirmed.
The event will run from August 27 to September 2.
