Net-A-Porter has expanded its mentoring program to launch The Vanguard Education Fund, and will engage with TAFE Australia to encourage more diverse talent into the fashion industry.

The expansion of the program comes after the business partnered with the British Fashion Council to engage with a network of universities to foster emerging talent.

The Vanguard Education Fund is an extension of the Vanguard program which brings new brands to a global audience and supports them on their journey to becoming successful businesses.

Net-A-Porter senior market editor, Libby Page said the business is proud to support Australian brands and emerging designers.

"The Vanguard Education Fund is an extension of the Vanguard program – for this initiative, we’ve partnered with the British Fashion Council (BFC) to engage with a network of universities to encourage more diverse talent and help students embark on their professional journey in the industry.

"Aside from UK universities within the BFC Colleges Council, we’ll also work with selected international universities, with the ultimate goal of fostering greater diversity by supporting talented applicants from a broad range of backgrounds.

"We love Australian brands for their relaxed attitudes and unexpected twists.

"We stock several emerging Australian brands on Net-A-Porter, such as ARTCLUB (one of our Vanguard brands), Bassike and Matteau; each have collections that are diverse and unique whilst resonating with our global audience.

"In addition to emerging designers, we also stock established Australian brands such as Zimmermann, which has been a favourite with our customers for years now, thanks to its signature aesthetic and distinct DNA," she said.
