US swimwear brand Nalia Swim is expanding to Australia and setting up its headquarters in Sydney, NSW.
Nalia Swim founder and CEO Nicole Shiraz will relocate to her home town of Sydney as CEO, with the company’s existing base of operations in Phoenix, Arizona becoming its second global office.
Shiraz started the swimwear brand in 2021 during the pandemic as a hobby. The company has reportedly accrued over US$1.6 million in sales in its two years of operations, with a 37% increase in revenue from 2021. It also has over 80,000 followers across its social media platforms.
With Shiraz as CEO, her Sydney team will oversee expansion into the Australian market.
“Ninety percent of our customers are currently from the US, but Australia is my home, and I am excited to be expanding Nalia Swim here,” Shiraz said. “Now that our garment production is set up in Bali and our headquarters based in Sydney, this is the best time for us to dive in.”
Shiraz established the brand in Los Angeles, with collections produced in Downtown LA. Nalia Swim launched its first collection in Spring/Summer of 2021. Its second collection was reportedly sold out within a week.
In 2022, Nalia Swim moved operations to two locations: Phoenix, Arizona and Sydney, Australia. All of its products are designed in the US and Australia, sourced and manufactured in Bali.
Shiraz said its manufacturers in Bali are solar-powered and produce fabrics made with 100% recycled post-consumer materials.
The brand is sold online and has various stockists in the US, such as Flying Solo in New York and online retailer Wolf & Badger. Shiraz said the company is already seeing interest from Australian stockists and retail stores.
