Australian body-positive fashion app Mys Tyler is making the data around which brands are worn by women of differing heights and sizes available to the public through a new website, called Brands For Your Body.
Through Mys Tyler’s data collection, the team have been able to learn which brands are preferred by women of different heights, shapes and sizes. This data is now being shared to its app users and the general public who are not signed up through the app.
Since launching the app in 2020, over 300,000 women globally have used Mys Tyler’s FIT algorithm to discover like-bodied creators in order to find body-relevant fashion content and buy clothes that fit.
The new web-based version is personalised for users based on their height and size, while users of the app gain access to a hyper-personalised selection of brands matched to over 10 characteristics.
“Most women will relate to being loyal to the brands they know fit their body,” Mys Tyler founder Sarah Neill said. “It’s often too risky to try new brands, especially when shopping online.
“With this new feature, our creators are doing the job of trying and testing new brands on behalf of all their body doubles, allowing women to confidently discover new body-relevant brands.”
New consumers can enter their size and height on the website, and an algorithm will search for the top brands worn by like-bodied Mys Tyler fashion contributors. Users can also learn how the brand looks on a range of bodies, how different women are styling it, and can click a hyperlink that can take them to the brand’s website.
“Being able to see how an item of clothing sits on a particular body shape, or someone with the same bust as you, or how someone the same age styles a piece, can really help consumers visualise how it will also look on them,” Neill said.
Recent research commissioned by Mys Tyler revealed 50% of women struggle to find clothing that suits their body, age, and/or style and 82% of women have recently had issues finding clothes that fit.
The Mys Tyler app is currently filled with over 40,000 shoppable links and over 5,000 brands. The social-shopping app uses a combination of AI and humanbased recommendations to connect women across the globe with like-bodied creators who are a similar height, size, shape, ethnicity, and age, so they can “follow”, discover, and shop fashion that fits.
