Australian department store Myer has extended its partnerships with local logistics firm Linfox as well as Australia Post.

Linfox and Myer will extend their 34-year contract for an additional seven years, with the logistics firm transporting goods from Myer’s distribution centre (DC) to all Myer stores across every major city in Australia - except Northern Territory and Tasmania.

As part of the extended partnership, Linfox will invest in new fleet for the Myer partnership over the next 12 months, all fitted with tracking technology.

Myer executive GM of supply chain Tony Carr said Linfox has been key to the retailer’s Customer First Plan.

“Myer is committed to getting our product to customers in the quickest and most efficient way and Linfox is instrumental in ensuring we deliver against this,” Carr said.

“We have a longstanding and trusted relationship with Linfox built on their leading service, reliability and innovation that ensures we are stocking stores and DCs in the most efficient and productive way.”

Meanwhile, Myer has signed a three-year partnership with Australia Post to fulfil its online customer experience.

Under the agreement, Australia Post will be the primary eCommerce fulfilment partner for Myer, covering the majority of Myer’s online orders.

The partnership also includes Australia Post’s Metro Service which offers next-day delivery for Myer eCommerce customers in metropolitan Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

In the past 12 months, Australia Post delivered more than five million parcels for Myer. As well as home delivery, the partnership includes 4,700 collection points - including post offices and parcel lockers - across Australia.

“Our ongoing partnership with Australia Post as our eCommerce fulfilment partner is a key part of our Customer First plan to operate our supply chain effectively and efficiently, in the best interest of our customers,” Carr said.
