UK outdoor retailer Mountain Warehouse has opened its fourth Melbourne store this week at The Glen Shopping Centre east of the CBD in Glen Waverley.
The opening is part of a wider expansion plan, according to the clothing and lifestyle business, and adds to a total of five stores since its Brisbane debut earlier this year.
It also follows the continued recorded growth of the retailer’s Australian website launched in 2017 and its capitalisation in New Zealand, currently its third-largest market with 24 stores.
The new Melbourne store features men’s, women’s, and kids’ wear, as well as footwear and equipment. For the current summer season, the store will stock its wetsuits, sandals and a wide array of backpacks.
The store will also stock its new wholesale addition Animal, a British coastal lifestyle brand that sells organic cotton tees and hoodies and a range of swimwear and accessories.
“We’re delighted to be opening another new store in Australia after the continuous success of our previous launches,” Mountain Warehouse founder and CEO Mark Neale said.
“We know Australians love exploring the great outdoors, so we are excited to bring our passion for adventure and great value gear for all the family here.”
Mountain Warehouse was established in 1997 and has since expanded to 397 stores and multiple websites across nine countries.
The latest opening will add 20 new jobs to the local Melbourne area.
