Mosaic Brands has opened the doors to a new purpose built 9,600 square meter fulfilment centre in Sydney’s Marsden Park.
Mosaic owns and operates nine retail-clothing brands within Australia and New Zealand and the fulfilment centre, was built to support its rapidly growing online division and service its network of circa 1,000 stores from one central location.
Mosaic Brands CEO Scott Evans said the fulfilment centre will feature state-of-the-art technology.
“Over the years, the Group has made multiple brand acquisitions and we have inherited various warehouse contracts that caused our overall business to be operating out of multiple sites.
“I am so proud that notwithstanding the challenges created through the past two years of COVID, our team have achieved a tremendous milestone for the Group by delivering this world class fulfilment centre that will benefit all customers shopping across all brands.
"The fulfilment centre has allowed us to consolidate the business while investing in state-of-the-art technology that has improved the way that we serve our customers."
The fulfilment centre also supports the growth strategy of the Group, enabling the business to expand its product offering over the next three years with potential to add more robotics to the site as volume increases.
Testing at the site, built in partnership with L&F Logistics, began earlier this year and it is now fully operational.
At its optimum, the site can hold up to 5 million units across 250,000 products and dispatch up to 15,000 orders per day.
“Our mantra is to put the customer at the heart of everything we do, and this site is allowing us keep up with the growing demand of our online business. To date this year we have delivered over 1.4m orders averaging a dispatch time of 48 hours,” Evans said.
The investment follows Mosaic Brands first half FY22 results that highlighted the global trend of the over-50’s consumer embracing the online channel, with digital sales up 21% for the Group.
