Australian-born absorbent apparel brand Modibodi has officially become B Corp certified after commencing its journey in June 2022. 

The Australian-born company hit a maiden score of 97, pushing past the qualifying score of 80, and well-past the median score across all ordinary businesses globally - whether qualified or not - of 50.9.

Measured via a B Impact assessment which covers five key areas, Modibodi scored highest in environment, hitting 45. This area covers environmental management, air and climate, water, and land and life, with Modibodi gaining bonus scores in resource conservation, land/wildlife conservation and toxin reduction/remediation. 

In the four other areas, Modibodi scored 14.8 in governance, 15.3 in workers, 17.3 in community, and 4.5 in customers. 

“We are thrilled to start our year by announcing that Modibodi has become a 'Certified B Corp Business’ and with an assessment score that demonstrates our values and focus on continuous improvement to deliver better business for all,” Modibodi executive director Kerry Cusack said.

Modibodi now joins a global B Corp community of businesses including KMD Brands, Outland Denim, Patagonia, All Birds, and Ganni.
