Fashion upcycling brand Reborn by HoMie has just repurposed its 5,000th garment amid its latest collaboration with global apparel business Champion.

The latest collaborative capsule features a limited run of just 55 pieces, including genderless hoodies and jumpers crafted from excess and faulty garments sourced from Champion.

Since 2020, Champion has continued to support Reborn, which aims to address the waste crisis in fashion by collaborating with brands to upcycle their unused garments.

To date, HoMie Reborn has reportedly upcycled over three tonnes of textiles.

“We are grateful for our partnership with Champion and our shared commitment to impact,” HoMie co-founder Marcus Crook said. “Since our first Reborn collaboration in 2020, we’ve been able to amplify our message and showcase the importance of circular fashion and social responsibility.

“Since our inception, we’ve focused on transforming discarded clothing into desirable pieces, reducing waste, and promoting a circular economy. This milestone fuels our drive to lead the charge in circular fashion and social impact, creating meaningful change in the industry.”

The new milestone comes after HoMie was honoured with a Good Design Australia Accolade in the Fashion Impact category for exceptional design and innovation. Alongside the saving of unused textiles, the business also aims to support young people affected by homelessness or hardship through job opportunities and mentoring.

“The Champion x HoMie Reborn collection highlights how collaboration can drive innovation and positive impact,” Champion Australia head of marketing Sheleen Jegasothy said.

“We’re incredibly proud to have been HoMie Reborn’s first brand partner and to see our impact grow each year. HoMie’s mission resonates deeply with us, not only through partnerships and clothing; but by the work HoMie does to offer young people a pathway to a better future.”.

The limited-edition range will launch today, October 1, via the HoMie website. All profits from the collection will go directly towards HoMie’s core social mission.
