Brisbane-based brand Medley Jewellery has signed a wholesale deal with Nique, to stock 24 styles through both its online portal and three physical stores.
It follows a pop-up store launched in Chadstone, which has since recently closed.
This is the first time Medley has moved into physical wholesaling since Michael Hill launched the brand as a pureplay online retailer in 2020.
Nique had initially reached out to Medley to set up the wholesale deal, according to head of Medley Amber Hodgman.
“Nique is the epitome of modern, minimalist fashion, so when the opportunity arose for them to become a Medley stockist, we jumped at it,” Hodgman said.
“With both brands having a strong focus on creating a circular economy through design and materials and having inclusivity as a key brand pillar - which we found through Nique’s GenderU range, a great accompaniment to Medley’s Unisex range - the brand alignment was undeniable.
“We think that by allowing Nique’s customers to see Medley up close and personal it will allow them to find the perfect jewellery pairing, both in style and values, to their Nique outfits.”
Nique has been selling gender fluid styles since 2019, adding to Medley’s plans to have some of its unisex styles available to Nique customers.
Speaking on GenderU, Nique creative director Nadia Jones said the launch of its GenderU range was a natural progression for the brand.
“We were inspired by our customers and the way they shop Nique – men are drawn to our women’s trousers; women to our men’s shirts,” Jones said. “They are naturally gender fluid and know what suits them irrelevant of how we have designed the collection.”
Nique operates two stores in Sydney and one in Melbourne.
