Australian jeweller Medley will offer permanent jewellery options at its sole Chadstone pop-up store that was opened in May.
Permanent jewellery is achieved by welding a high-quality chain together as a bracelet, anklet, ring or necklace onto your body. According to Medley, the point is that you don’t need to take your jewellery on and off every day.
“We’ve been wanting to offer permanent jewellery since Medley’s inception after seeing the trend rise in the US,” head of Medley Amber Hodgman said. “Now that we have a physical store, we can finally offer it.
“It was very important to us to be able to offer an in-store experience to our customers, allowing them to create a day out of their visit to Chadstone by shopping, lunching and getting their very own permanent jewellery piece.”
The new service and range is called ‘Lasted’, where customers can book online or walk into the pop-up store, where they can choose from a range of 925 sterling silver and 10k gold chains.
Customers then have the option to add a personal touch by selecting charms to customise their piece before it’s welded to their wrist, ankle, finger, or neck.
“This isn’t just any jewellery – it’s made to stay with you through everything,” Medley senior buyer Donna Sturla said. “That’s why we’ve ensured every piece is crafted from high-quality materials like 10k gold and 925 sterling silver, so you can wear it in the shower, at the gym, or even while washing the dishes, without worrying about tarnishing.”
To launch this experience, Medley shared social media posts featuring slogans such as, “All good things last longer with love” and “A story to tell, made to last” in a bid to drive consumer awareness of the service that isn’t widely saturated across Australia.
Medley’s permanent jewellery experience will be available from September 30 to January 5, 2025.
Medley Jewellery is owned and managed under Michael Hill International Ltd. The brand offers a range of styles in conflict-free gold, ethically sourced natural diamonds, SCS certified laboratory-grown diamonds, recycled 18k fine gold plating and 925 sterling silver.
