Italian fashion brand Max Mara will re-open its key travel retail boutique at Melbourne Airport this month.

The 100-square-metre store will be part of the international airport’s luxury retail precinct, with a facade of ornamental Italian Ceppo di Gre stone. The brand considers the re-opening as a signifier for the return to buoyant retail trading conditions.

The re-opening also marks Max Mara’s global plan of expansion in the travel retail channel, re-establishing in notable airports as international travel returns.

The revised Max Mara store will include the brand’s entire current range, from ready-to-wear coats and outerwear to accessories.

The interior includes organic materials such as wood, burnished metal and stone.

Founded in 1951 by the Achille Maramotti, Max Mara sells modern formal clothing for women.

The brand sells in 2,500 locations in more than 100 countries worldwide.

The Max Mara Fashion group counts nine different brands under its ownership. The company remains privately held.
