Mambo Australia has partnered with SurfAid to raise money for the organisation through a charity auction and surfing competition.
2022 is the second consecutive year Mambo has teamed up with SurfAid to raise funds to support the health, wellbeing and the resilience of families living in isolated surfing regions.
Mambo aims to raise $6,000 for SurfAid and will do this via a charity auction, a competition team in the SurfAid Cup and a unique Mambo design created for the 2022 competition.
The SurfAid Cup will be held at surf park Urbnsurf in Melbourne on March 25, where teams of six surfers will take on one of Australia's most sought-after waves.
The Mambo team will consist of pro-surfer Blake Thornton, Mambo creative director Nathan Sheahan, surf photographer Mark Croker (Sticks), Zac Michaels and the Mambo junior surf team surfers April Davey and Cooper Puttergil.
In addition to the surfing competition, Mambo will auction off custom painted Mambo surfboards, surf lessons with pro surfer Blake Thornton, a surf photography session with Sticks Photography, and Reg Mombassa and Mambo memorabilia.
A highlight piece in the auction includes a one-of-a-kind signed Reg Mombassa loud shirt, 'Suburbia.'
Funds raised by the initiatives will help families in the heartlands of surfing access healthcare, clean water, and food security.
