Leather accessories brand Maison de Sabre has launched a new 'Coral Blue' collection, which is backed by an eco-friendly mission.

The collection has been created in partnership with Ecco leather, using the brand's DriTan technology; a water-free leather tanning process which saves 25 million litres of water per year.

Additionally, each Coral Blue piece sold will see Maison de Sabre's philanthropic arm - the Make Your Mark Foundation - contribute to the planting of one mangrove tree to help reforest the ocean, foster marine habitat, and fight climate change.

Maison de Sabre co-founder and creative director Omar Sabré said the brand is on a mission to become more environmentally friendly.

"A sustainable future is our only future, and that’s why we are committed to making a shift, starting with our Coral Blue capsule.

"This collection really is a love letter to our oceans and the reef that inspired it.

"71% of the Earth’s surface is covered in water, and more than 90% of the carbon in the global carbon cycle is stored in the ocean.

"Mangrove trees are instrumental in helping to reverse climate change as they remove five times more CO2 from the atmosphere than tropical rainforests, while also providing food and habitat for marine life.

"It was important to us that we extend our sustainability efforts beyond the new product to become a true part of the solution today, tomorrow and always," he said.

The Coral Blue collection's colours were inspired by Australia's Great Barrier Reef, Sabré added.

"We have always taken our inspiration from the vivid colours present in nature, while the timeless appeal of leather has formed the base of our entire product offering.

"Hence, it is a synergistic fit to partner with Ecco leather on an item that not only draws its aesthetic from the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, but also marks our first step in an ongoing journey towards becoming a more sustainable brand," he said.

The limited-edition Coral Blue collection is available now on the Maison de Sabre website.

It retails for between $89 and $449.
