Australian-based activewear retailer LSKD (Loose Kid) has launched its first international headquarters and storefront in the USA.
Opened in early April, the new store and headquarters is located in San Diego, California, and comes two years after its initial launch in the US market.
The 240 square metre space includes a retail area selling LSKD core styles and latest collections, an office space for its US team, and a community room that includes compression boots, massage guns, ice baths, and recovery meals and drinks for its consumer base.
LSKD recorded a queue of 500 people outside its Pacific Beach shop on opening day, saying it was its biggest day of sales in the US.
The opening day included a live DJ, athletes, exclusive product, as well as its ongoing tights and shorts swap initiative that was originally piloted in its recent Australian store openings.
The brand worked alongside San Diego charity Goodwill by donating all the tights and shorts it received in the swap to the organisation. LSKD said this aligns with its Project Earth initiative.
LSKD founder and CEO Jason Daniel said the launch in San Diego was a team decision.
“The opening was such a special moment for the team, as we have been working so hard to create a community globally,” Daniel said.
“After some learnings over the years with brand partners we have formed relationships with, we felt Pacific Beach would be the perfect place for our home here in the US.
“It was incredible to meet some of our US community in person and celebrate this milestone with them, because without them, none of this would be possible.”
LSKD is an Australian-owned and operated brand launched in 2007. It is currently in the process of doubling its store network in Australia and New Zealand, following the opening of a fourth one in Sydney’s Westfield Miranda.
Its website teases a fifth store opening in Westfield Bondi Junction, expected sometime this year.
