Louis Vuitton has opened a new store in Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall, taking over the former National Australia Bank building. The opening brings its total Australian store count to 11.
The new store offers women's and men's collections across three levels with ready-to-wear apparel, shoes, accessories and fragrances.
Louis Vuitton's new Brisbane store design takes inspiration from its architectural concept first featured in the Place Vendome store in Paris. A selection of light woods and tonal colours have been selected to comply with the historical elements of the building.
The ground floor features the women’s product selection, with special lighting that highlights the ceiling and pilasters of the building. The basement, which held the original vault of the bank, now features the men’s range.
A selection of artworks and furniture from local Australian artists such as Otis Hope Carey, Edward Linacre, George Hall, Khai Liew, Gustave Xavier and Thomas Lentini are featured through the store.
The staircase between the ground floor and basement features a custom designed mural created by Otis Hope Carey. The mural took over two weeks to paint and is an interpretation of his Gumbaynggirr clan totem, Gaagal (the ocean).
The mezzanine level of the store houses two salons to be used for private appointments, alongside a space that exhibits artists from Sydney-based China Heights Gallery. The artists featured will change regularly throughout the year.
The first artists to be showcased will be Otis Hope Carey and Shaun Daniel Allen (Shal.).
