Australian activewear brand Lorna Jane plans to have 85 per cent of its Active Essentials Range using recycled fibres by the end of 2025.

The move was sparked in September 2024, when Lorna Jane started to expand its use of recycled polyester and nylon, integrating them into its essentials range.

Moreover, the activewear brand is also ensuring that all black and white pieces contain recycled fibres.

According to Lorna Jane, these fibres are certified as meeting Global Recycled Standard (GRS) requirements. The move is part of Lorna Jane’s broader ‘Preferred Fibre Program’, which aims to reduce environmental impact and promote sustainable practices within the fashion industry.

"At Lorna Jane, we continually strive to improve and innovate in ways that benefit our customers and the environment,” CEO Anna Fowler said. “Transitioning 85 per cent of our Active Essentials Range to incorporate recycled fibres is an important step in our sustainability journey.

“We believe that activewear can be both functional and responsible, and this initiative reflects our commitment to protecting our planet for future generations.”

Lorna Jane manages over 100 stores across Australia and New Zealand.
