Australian fashion brand Kookai will open the doors to its newly relocated flagship store in Melbourne at Chadstone shopping centre on June 1 tomorrow.
Kookai has been operating at Chadstone for over 20 years and was the brand’s third-ever retail store, which still remains its highest trading flagship location. The brand opened its first Australian boutique on Chapel Street in 1992.
The relocation to its new space showcases a reimagined store design concept in a corner location within the same footprint.
The new store brings Kookai’s total retail footprint to 71, which also includes stores in New Zealand, New Caledonia and throughout Europe. It's Australian retail footprint is 46.
“When it came to creating the vision for our new flagship Chadstone boutique, we knew it called for something special,” Kookai creative director Bianca Vagner-Cromb said. “We wanted to make our customers feel like they’d stepped out of the centre and into our world, surrounded by beautiful, inspiring design elements and original artworks from three different Australian artists.”
As part of the store opening, Kookai will be offering customers who spend $200 or more at the boutique a limited edition version of its Signature Candle, a blend of mokara orchid, white lily and spring moss - which is part of the brand’s newly released scent collection.
Key retail concepts in the new store will include a dedicated fitting room concierge and a stylist assistance button in each fitting room.
“Our children were just toddlers when Danielle and I first opened Kookai in Chadstone,” co-founder and managing director Rob Cromb said. “To have Bianca and Viktor alongside us now as leaders of the business and shaping the next stage in the brand’s story, marks a proud and symbolic moment for us.”
