Australian fashion brand Kookai has named Bianca Vagner-Cromb as the brand’s new creative director, shifting from her last role as global brand officer.

The lead creative post was held by co-founder Danielle Vagner since the brand’s inception in 1992, alongside her husband and fellow co-founder Rob Cromb who is managing director.

Vagner-Cromb’s new position comes after 13 years working at Kookai, starting as a retail sales assistant in 2011.

“As the newly appointed creative director of Kookai, I am both honored and thrilled to take on this pivotal role within a brand that has been an integral part of my life,” Vagner-Cromb said. 

“Being the daughter of Kookai founders Rob Cromb and Danielle Vagner, I have been immersed in the world of fashion since childhood. Our family-owned business, founded the year I was born in 1992, has always been a central part of my upbringing. 

“Growing up alongside Kookai, I have developed an extensive understanding of the brand, our loyal customers, and the deep-rooted values that drive our success.”

She then added that the transition from global brand manager to creative director feels like a natural evolution, noting her growing involvement with the design team and process over the last 12 months. 

“My journey with Kookai has been filled with invaluable experiences and opportunities to shape our global presence through innovative marketing campaigns, events, social media and PR. Now, as I step into this new role, I am excited to oversee all aspects of marketing, design, buying, and production. 

“This comprehensive oversight allows me to ensure that every facet of our brand aligns with our vision and meets the high standards our customers expect.

“This role is particularly meaningful as it allows a family member to maintain the integrity and authenticity of our brand narrative. I am now leading our creative teams from the inception of design concepts to the execution of marketing campaigns, both online and offline.”
