Kmart has revealed that it has donated money and sent pallets of products to flood-affected communities in New South Wales and Queensland.

The business has donated $200,000 to GIVIT's Storm and Flood Appeal which will help support the organisations on the ground helping those who have been impacted by the floods.

Additionally, Kmart has sent more than 20 pallets of items to flood-affected communities to provide them with the much-needed goods.

In a statement, Kmart said its Lismore and Toombul stores were directly affected by the floods.

"Like every Australian, the Kmart family have been devastated to see the impact of the recent floods and storms on people around the country including our own team members.

"Our Kmart Lismore store suffered significant damage which will result in months of rebuilding, and the clean-up continues in a small number of other stores including our Kmart Toombul store which is still closed due to damage in the centre.

"The safety, recovery and rebuild of these communities is top of mind for us and we know this will take time," the retailer said.

Kmart joins other Australian retailers and brands including Aje, APG & Co., Bamboozld, Cotton On Group, The Iconic and Oroton who have made donations to flood-relief efforts and organisations.
