PLBY Group – the US parent company of Australian-born lingerie brand Honey Birdette – has expanded its board to seven directors, and filled one of the extra two spots with Gyorgy Gattyan, owner of Byborg Enterprises S.A., which the group recently signed a long-term license agreement with.

PLBY – which is also the parent company of the internationally recognised Playboy brand – is aiming to fill the last vacant seat on its board “as soon as practicable”.

Gattyan is the CEO of Docler Holding S.a.r.l., a multinational information technology, media and entertainment company he founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Luxembourg.

Docler Holding is the parent company of Byborg, which is primarily focused on the development and operation of live streaming websites, including the webcam platform LiveJasmin, which Gattyan founded in 2001.

“Gyorgy has established multiple successful, web-based businesses, making him a valuable addition to the board, as Playboy continues to pursue a digital focused, asset-light business model,” PLBY Group CEO Ben Kohn said.

“I’m excited to welcome Gyorgy to PLBY Group and have his experience and support as the company returns to growth.”

Immediately after signing the licensing agreement with Byborg earlier this year, PLBY ended its plan to sell-off the Honey Birdette business, and is now focusing on growing the business and increasing its total value.

As of the third quarter of 2024, PLBY Group had listed Honey Birdette has a “discontinued operation”, meaning it will not report on the financial performance of the lingerie brand going forward. It is not known if PLBY’s decision to retain Honey Birdette means it will resume reporting on the brand going forward.

The business is yet to share fourth quarter and full-year results. Its fourth quarter results from 2023 were released in late March of 2024.
