Highpoint Shopping Centre Melbourne has welcomed four fashion retailers and expanded two others over the past twelve months, as it anchors itself with a new Coles supermarket in the lead up to Christmas.
Aje, Aje Athletica, Calvin Klein and Cue are the new retailers to open in 2022, with Kathmandu and Rebel rCX upgrading their stores in the latter end of the year.
Kmart also opened its doors at Highpoint this year, along with Toymate, Lush Cosmetics, Mecca Aesthetica, and a new IKEA format store.
The centre's new Coles supermarket opened on Friday, December 16 and joins two other supermarket chains: Woolworths and Yahweh Asian Grocery.
The GPT Group head of retail and mixed-use Chris Barnett said its Highpoint complex continues to focus on customer experience and accessibility.
“The addition of Coles is yet another example of how Highpoint continues to meet the evolving needs of our customers, and we are pleased to be welcoming a second major supermarket to provide greater choice and convenience,” Barnett said. “Our local shoppers are sure to benefit from a larger fresh food offering and extended trading hours in the lead-up to Christmas, and Highpoint will continue to appeal as a premium retail destination, and as an everyday shopping destination as well.”
The new Coles Highpoint will include a frozen dessert bar, an orange juice machine, a pet treat bar, and an open-front bakery. The store will also include a connecting Liquorland, and click and collect.
Highpoint has also extended its Christmas trading hours, where it will stay open every night until midnight through this week until Christmas.
