Norwegian outdoor apparel retailer Helly Hansen opened its first retail location in Melbourne CBD last week.

Located at the Galleria Shopping Plaza on Bourke Street, it will become the brand’s 10th retail store in Australia, with another store planning to be opened in Queenstown, New Zealand in July, adding to its Christchurch store.

The Galleria site is situated at the intersection of Bourke and Little Collins Street. The new store design features an industrial aesthetic with accents of red, against rock, wood, and cement features, alongside digital interfaces.

The new store will sell Helly Hansen’s latest HOD Collection - a premium resort ski range designed with ‘Helly Tech’ technology, which makes each piece waterproof, breathable and windproof.

Helly Hansen was born in Norway 140 years ago and has since scaled to a global business. The brand services a diverse range of apparel for women and men across snow, sailing, outdoor, urban and premium corporatewear categories.

The brand is stocked at more than 200 ski resorts globally, including across Australia and New Zealand, and is reportedly worn by more than 55,000 ski professionals.
