Global fashion retailer H&M will release a 38-piece ‘Holiday Capsule’ collection globally, with its Pitt Street Mall store in Sydney being the only retail location in Australia to stock it.
The H&M Studio range will also be rolled out globally online, including across Australia.
The prices for the new collection range from $34.99 to $549.00, with the pricing being similar to the current H&M pieces available online.
Key pieces in the collection include a tailored navy suit, a black leather coat, alongside various evening dresses and accessories such as earrings and necklaces.
Materials used in the new H&M Studio collection include chrome-free leather, wool, cotton, cellulose yarn and recycled polyester, with the several jewellery pieces made from recycled steel, zinc and brass.
“There’s nothing quite like tailoring to strike a self-assured note when it comes to evening style - nor glistening embellishment to set hearts racing,” H&M creative advisor and head of design womenswear Ann-Sofie Johansson said.
“We distilled sharp silhouettes and edgy details in ways that feel effortless to wear this party season.”
Eight pieces will also be available for rental, with some being issued in unique-to-rental colourways. This includes the two-piece top and bubble-hem-skirt combination, which was planned as a bridal gown alternative, alongside its “slouchy” suit and a few of the dresses.
“This season, the design team was channelling quiet confidence, creating after-dark pieces that set pulses racing while making you feel at ease,” H&M Studio collection designer Kathrin Deutsch said. “Looking to eveningwear foundations that balance masculine tailoring with feminine draping gives the collection a modern feel.”
The H&M Studio arm were initially launched in 2013 and is developed by an in-house design team at the brand’s Stockholm atelier. Limited collections are released several times a year.
H&M has over 35 stores in Australia. Globally, the fashion retailer operates over 4,000 stores.
