Gucci has rolled out a new 'Gucci Pin' in celebration of its new Lunar New Year collection.
Following the launch of the North Face x Gucci Pins across Melbourne and Sydney, the new pop-up is dedicated to the Doraemon x Gucci collection.
The Doraemon x Gucci collection, created to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year, features the famous Japanese manga and anime character, Doraemon – the cat-type robot sent from the 22nd century to help a young boy (Nobita Nobi).
The pin complements the collection and helps to create an immersive experience for shoppers, Gucci said in a statement.
"Crossing the magical pink 'Anywhere Door' of the Doraemon x Gucci pins, visitors find themselves in an enchanted space, which blends the whimsical world of Gucci with elements inspired by the home of the Nobi family, highly recognisable for Doraemon’s fans.
"The patterns, in bright colours, take over the codes of this imaginary Japanese house, creating playful shades for a truly immersive shopping experience," Gucci said.
The Doraemon x Gucci collection spans bags, wallets and luggage, t-shirts, shoes, shirts, tracksuit sets, bucket hats, skirts, scarves, jumpers, a swimsuit, sunglasses and watches.
The collection also has its own sustainable packaging, which comprises fully recyclable green bags and matching swing tickets referencing the 50th anniversary of the cartoon.
Other Doraemon Gucci pins can be found in different cities across China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
The collection is also supported by AR content in the Gucci app.
An AR Doraemon will come to life and perform a dance, when customers scan the dedicated packaging or a Gucci Doraemon ArtWall in Shanghai or Hong Kong.
The Doraemon x Gucci pin is located in Sydney at the Gucci flagship store, while a window takeover is at David Jones.
