Scanlan Theodore has unveiled its reimagined Emporium Melbourne boutique, designed in partnership with Sydney-based interior design firm Studio McQualter.
Situated in Melbourne’s luxury precinct, the refurbishment has seen the space double from its original size.
Reconfigured exteriors featuring three zinc-trimmed windows backed by aluminum metal louvres, tubular LED signage and large entrance doors.
The interior includes navy blue columns, hand cut glass mosaic tiles, framed boxed display windows, blackened curved metal shelving, and a point-of-sale reception wrapped in belting leather.
There also includes poured French Grey terrazzo floors, four-metre-tall ceilings with enclosed recessed lighting, alongside wall, desk, floor, and sconce lamps from three Italian brands Guzzini, Micolitti and Stilnovo.
“The high-end furnishings add a stylish finishing touch with desks, chairs, sideboards, and tables sourced from some of the most coveted names in mid-20th Century design from Olivetti, Parisi, Starck, Bossy and Ettore Sottsass to create a compelling shopping environment,” Studio McQualter said.
Fitting rooms feature a custom mirror, De Poortere Richelieu Velours wool carpets from Belgium, and a 1940’s Murano Glass ceiling chandelier.
Scanlan Theodore’s new Melbourne boutique also includes a VIP styling suite, with an added refreshment bar, along with artworks several artists, five of which are Australian, with two from Auckland. They include Stefan Dunlop, Zak Tilley, Emma Itzstein, Gareth Sansom, Lara Merrett, Julian Hooper, and Ed Batts.
“Their colourful, eye catching paintings may range in size, but all speak to their lived & artistic experience in one form or another helping to make Scanlan Theodore a unique destination and Emporium Melbourne is no exception,” Studio McQualter said.
The boutique will house ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories, and swim, and coincides with the launch of Scanlan’s S22 collection.
