Australian streetwear brand Ksubi has officially opened its first UK standalone store, located on Carnaby Street.

This is the latest global store opening for Ksubi, with Miami and Chicago launching earlier this year alongside existing sites in New York City and Los Angeles.

The Carnaby launch coincides with the global release of a limited edition collaboration with London-based artist Slawn.

Ksubi CEO Craig King said the London community has been calling for a physical Ksubi store for some time.

“At Ksubi, we celebrate the triumph of the creative outsider - the rebels doing things their own way and to their own beat,” King said. “We’ve found our LA and New York stores have become hubs for our crew to hang out, and we hope London will be the same.”

The opening of the London store marks a milestone in the brand’s expansion in the UK and Europe. In May this year, the brand signed a wholesale partnership deal with international brand development platform Tomorrow Ltd to drive distribution across the continent.

The brand has reportedly grown its wholesale accounts from 100 to 300 in the past three years.

King said that Tomorrow is known as an incubator and developer of brands that are “purpose driven, creatively led and community inspired.”

“We are looking forward to working with them to share our brand story and grow our footprint in new and existing markets.”

Located at 10 Carnaby Street in London, the new store spans 2,132 square feet and is designed in partnership with London-based firm Brinkworth.

It works across two levels, a ground floor and a basement. The first floor features high-end details along with a custom sculpture by Slawn.

The basement level will feature an exclusive private shopping space, created to host Ksubi’s VIP customers, as well as customer personalisation workshops.

The Slawn collaboration follows previous partnerships, including member of the AWGE collective Hidji and Miami-based Slumpy Kev.

Inspired by the character from his limited-edition Ksubi x Slawn collection, which launched exclusively at the Ksubi London store on opening day, the one-of-one art piece incorporates Ksubi’s signature box-crosses.

Established in 1999 in Sydney, Australia, Ksubi is a high-end casual streetwear brand that expanded globally, with the US being its current primary market.

Its stockist base include luxury retailers in the US and in the UK.
