David Jones has officially launched its 'New Zealand Designer Edit'.

The installation is located at the department store's flagship site in Sydney, with over 30 New Zealand brands on show.

Housed on Level 8, the immersive retail space will be available for customers to shop from July 7 to August 7 and extended online. 

David Jones GM of menswear, childrenswear and homewares Chris Wilson welcomed the designer brands to the space.

“We are incredibly excited to showcase our established and emerging New Zealand designers in Australia, providing our valued customers with an exciting display of the best of New Zealand fashion, design, homewares and food right in the heart of Sydney at David Jones," he said.

New Zealand designer Kate Sylvester said she is thrilled to extend her partnership with the retailer. 

"We are thrilled to be part of David Jones’ showcase of New Zealand design. We have been part of the David Jones family for over five years and this event is such an exciting celebration of the immense creativity of New Zealand.”

Following the launch of ‘The NZ Design Edit’ on Wednesday afternoon, illustrator and creative consultant Kelly Thompson will host two ticketed trunk show events in the space. 

The New Zealand Designer Edit includes Antipodes, Bennetto, Deadly Ponies, Hotmilk, icebreaker, Karen Walker, Kate Sylvester, Marle, Meadowlark, Nisa, Paris Georgia, Rodd & Gunn, Saben, Barkers, Max, Swanndri and Huski.

The immersive space also includes a Kia Ora Bar where customers will be able to experience New Zealand produce, including premium wines and a bespoke Kia Ora snack menu.

The launch event was attended by designers, media personalities, industry professionals and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Arden.
