Global footwear retailer Foot Locker has taken over a local barbershop in Brisbane CBD as part of its newly launched store along Queen Street.

Called The Electric Chair, the barbershop will offer a ‘Foot Locker Fade’ hairstyle between December 8 and 22 as part of the launch. Customers who get the haircut will go into the draw to win a $2,000 shopping experience at the Foot Locker Queen Street location.

Customers are also offered a 20% off discount for their haircut with any purchase made at the new Foot Locker store until December 22.

Located at the Queen Street Mall intersection and neighbouring McDonald’s and Hungry Jacks’, the 719sqm Foot Locker store is a relocation and major expansion of the previous Foot Locker and House of Hoops store in the adjacent Albert St. It includes tiered levels of men's, women's and kid’s footwear, apparel and accessories.

The store will provide a first-of-its-kind interactive experience in partnership with Nike, where customers can test their basketball footwork skills and experience with real-time digital and audio feedback and scores.

Foot Locker Asia Pacific VP GM Natalie Ellis said the company is looking for ways to connect and empower its young consumers and local communities.

“Our new Foot Locker Queen Street Power store and collaborations with Nike and The Electric Chair Barbershop are testament of that vision,” Ellis said. “We cannot wait to welcome our customers into our store and outfit them in our curated brand and product collections.”

The new Foot Locker Power Store opens today, December 9, at 130 Queen Street Mall, with a ‘Foot Locker Friday’ launch event hosted by the brand’s creative director of basketball Corey Williams.
