Australian apparel brand Driza-Bone has launched an Australian-made limited edition range to mark its 125th birthday.

Called the 1898 Limited Edition Collection, it includes six pieces produced in limited quantities. Styles include the Short Rider Coat, the Lumberjack Jacket and the Jumbuck Vest, each in new colourways with 1898 commemorative details.

It also includes three wardrobe essentials - a t-shirt, crew sweat and cap.

According to Driza-Bone's website, not all of its oilskin items are made in Australia, with some of its production in China using local or internationally sourced materials. Some of its desert wax and drywax jackets and vests are made in local Australian factories.

On its website, Driza-Bone noted that all its garments and fabrics are designed and tested in-house at its head office in Burnley, Victoria. The company focuses on increasing its support of local manufacturers and suppliers.

“We are very committed to maintaining our Australian production however manufacturing in Australia is on the decline across all industries and the garment business is no different,” the company wrote on its website. “We are slowly losing the skills and machinery in our industry which makes being competitive in some areas very difficult therefore we look overseas to produce select items.

“Australian made is always our preference, but unfortunately not always achievable for all of our products. Please be assured that no matter where our garments are produced, we always strive to provide the best quality product from the best source.”

The business manages an e-commerce website, with a selection of its products found across RB Sellars stores.
