Dior has opened its Fall 2023 pop-up in Melbourne’s Chadstone Shopping Centre until June 18.

The pop-up will feature its latest collection by Dior womenswear creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri alongside Karishma Swali, who directs the Chanakya ateliers and the Chanakya School of Craft in Mumbai.

According to Dior, the collection is a large-scale collaboration between India and France.

The pop-up interior includes carved coromandel wood finish panels, talismanic animals and furniture in rattan.

Chiuri and Swali have chosen a colour block sequence in shades of green, yellow, pink and purple for the collection, which is embodied in a 'Slim Look' matching set, as well as evening coats, sari-inspired straight skirts and traditional Indian cuts such as the tunic shape.

The collection features pyjamas, blouses and dresses, as well as tunics, knotted skirts and draped dresses in silk woven in a specific technique found in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

It also includes straight pants and long skirts that are adorned with beads and sequins, with several types of embroidery in metallic thread – including Zardozi.
