Melbourne-based apparel distributor Designworks has helped secure a sporting partnership deal for Umbro AU/NZ with the Fiji Rakavi Football Union Limited (FRFUL).

As part of the five-year agreement, all national teams under the Fiji Rugby banner – including the Fiji Men’s and Women’s 15s and 7s, Fiji XVs, and other age-group teams – will now wear Umbro’s bespoke, technical playing and training apparel.

The Fiji Rugby Sevens Men’s and Women’s teams already received their new kits, which they wore during the HSBC Sevens Series leg in Perth last weekend.

The deal was secured by Designworks, a joint venture partner of Iconix International, owner of the Umbro brand.

“We are thrilled to partner with Fiji Rugby as their official technical partner for the next five years,” Designworks managing director Brooke Norton said. “The personality and excitement that the team brings to the game is truly inspiring.”

FRFUL CEO Rovereto Nayacalevu said the union is proud to partner with Umbro.

“This new partnership reflects our ongoing mission to continue elevating Fiji Rugby’s presence both on and off the field,” Nayacalevu said.

The new Umbro kits will be made available in February via Umbro’s Australian dedicated website, as well as sporting retailers across Australia and New Zealand.

“Fiji’s national rugby teams are a source of pride and passion for Fijians; and their electrifying style, a joy to watch for fans around the world,” Umbro’s global managing director Anthony Little said.

“We are honoured and delighted to see our double diamond logo on such exceptional international teams and look forward to celebrating the unique Fijian flair, spirit and passion with the world.”
