French couture designer Delphine Genin has launched online haute couture embroidery classes in Australia.
Trained at the Chanel-owned embriodery school Ecole Lesage, Genin is the only French couture atelier in Australia to specialise in haute couture art embroidery.
Developing her passion for embroidery from a young age, Genin said she is thrilled to share the art with budding students.
"Through these exclusive classes, I want to share this revered and esteemed art form and honour the tradition of Les Métiers d’Art and the continuation of this rare savoir-faire.
"Our clientele is passionate and curious about the intricate work of our petites mains, and we couldn’t be more excited to immerse them in the world of haute couture art embroidery," she said.
The online classes are delivered through a series of videos which give a step-by-step guide on how to create the pieces.
In addition to the videos, a consultation with one of the atelier’s artisans will ensure that each student is accompanied as they learn the techniques.
The classes commenced on 20 July and cost $290 without a starter kit - for those who want to source their own materials - or $390 which includes the full starter kit.
