David Jones has unveiled the first phase of its luxury redevelopment in Bourke Street.
Level 3 will bring the women’s designer footwear and apparel floors together in one location.
The floor was unveiled by David Jones CEO Scott Fyfe and GM for Womenswear, Footwear and Accessories Bridget Veals yesterday.
The site showcases international and Australian designer brands, featuring premium fitting rooms, a new personal shopping suite and eight new beauty rooms.
It also offers luxury designer concept stores from brands including Valentino, Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Ferragamo and Roger Vivier along with the introduction of a new sneaker concept.
Australian designer brands on the floor include Scanlan Theodore, Toni Maticevski, Alemais, Camilla & Marc and emerging Melbourne designer CLEA.
Welcoming more than nine million visitors per year, David Jones Bourke Street aligns fashion, beauty, home and food.
The redevelopment comes as department stores prepare for a bounce back in tourist and CBD foot traffic, following the Covid-19 pandemic.
David Jones posted a 9.2% fall in first half FY22 sales, as its retail network was unable to trade over three months amid restrictions.
