Australian model Megan Gale is set to return to the David Jones runway in March, as the department store marks its 185th year.

Gale will open and close the David Jones Autumn Winter Runway, taking place at the Bourke Street Flagship on Saturday, March 4.

The actress and model became the David Jones’ fashion ambassador in 2001 and featured in seasonal campaigns and runway shows. In 2008, she took on a new role as brand ambassador working with the business in a broader capacity until 2014 whilst pursuing other projects.

This will be the first time Megan has walked the runway in 15 years. This year, 600 guests including designers, VIPs, and David Jones customers will witness the event.

David Jones CEO Scott Fyfe said it was a privilege to partner with Megan over a decade.

“Our differentiation is about inspiring style and creativity,” Fyfe said. “We must inspire the imaginations of our customers and partners and be the catalyst for unique experiences that captivate them.

“Megan’s ability to inspire and engage customers positioned her as a true icon on of the David Jones brand.”

Gale said she looks forward to marking the brand’s 185th milestone.

“My relationship with David Jones holds a very special place in my heart,” she said. “Some of my proudest career moments are during my time as an ambassador.

“David Jones is the destination in Australia for the best international brands and some of my favourite Australian designers. Their shows are always world-class. I'm excited to be returning to the runway - it's going to be an amazing and nostalgic moment for me.”

The David Jones Autumn Winter Runway will also include performances from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Australian Ballet.
