Cue has released its first style in partnership with Good Earth Cotton, a carbon positive cotton program developed in Australia.
R.M. Williams, Nobody Denim, Reformation and Sir are also brands which have partnered with the company.
Cue's 'Cotton Cloque Drop Waist Dress' is made from traceable carbon positive Australian cotton, with the retailer committed to release new Good Earth Cotton styles each season.
Cue executive director Melanie Levis said the move is part of a broader sustainability push for the brand.
“Ethical and sustainable manufacturing has always been important to us, so it’s exciting to work with such an inspiring and innovative company like Good Earth Cotton. The technology is truly amazing – it’s revolutionising transparency and traceability."
Cue is also working closely with its long-term manufacturers to introduce Good Earth Cotton and FibreTrace into future product lines.
FibreTrace is a transparency technology. By adding patented luminescent pigment into the raw fibre, a Good Earth Cotton garment can be traced across the global supply chain all the way from the cotton farm to the Cue shop floor.
The Good Earth Cotton featured in Cue’s Cotton Cloque Drop Waist Dress was grown, harvested, and ginned at the Keytah property, in northern New South Wales.
In 2020, Cue released a dedicated range of styles made from certified sustainable fabrics in a bid to decrease the environmental impact of fashion on the world.
Today, Cue’s Sustainability range encompasses over 50% of its range and features certified recycled, organic, responsibly sourced, and natural fibres.
Cue has been accredited with Ethical Clothing Australia for over 10 years and recently became a member of the Australian Fashion Council.
