Australian fashion brand Country Road has partnered with social enterprise and streetwear label HoMie to launch a new limited range this week.
This limited-edition collection will feature 230 units made using past-season Country Road garments, including its Heritage Sweats.
The designs were upcycled at ABMT, a local manufacturing facility in Melbourne that HoMie recently partnered with to scale a local upcycling initiative.
This partnership will see a limited run of iconic past-season Country Road garments reimagined into unique designs at local facility ABMT in Melbourne.
According to HoMie, five different design blocks were chosen to cut and mix various panels like a puzzle to minimise waste, after being sorted into size batches and colour groups.
For the logo, HoMie Reborn collaborated with local illustrator Nick Campbell, with the brief and concept tagline being ‘from the Country Road to the city streets’.
A puff print ink was chosen to lift the final design.
Through its Reborn program, HoMie is exploring reuse in the fashion industry by upcycling existing garments into unique pieces.
“HoMie is thrilled to be partnering with one of Australia’s most loved and iconic brands in Country Road, so HoMie’s impact can stretch all the way from the Country Road to the city streets,” HoMie co-founder and creative director Marcus Crook said.
“What excites me most about this partnership is our shared commitment to responsibility.
“We hope to inspire other brands to adopt circular practices. We want to lead the charge in circular fashion and social impact, driving meaningful change within the industry.
“Making use of existing materials means we can reduce our reliance on new resources. It also provides a unique line of cool garments that you won't find anyone else wearing.”
The upcycled limited edition sweats will be available in four select stores across Country Road, including Brighton, Chadstone, South Yarra and Warringah Mall.
