Country Road will release its second ‘Australian Made T-Shirt’, this time in collaboration with traceability technology FibreTrace.
FibreTrace is a luminescent pigment that has been bonded to cotton at the gin, embedding it into the fibre permanently. This can be scanned along the supply chain and generate data on location, date and auditor using blockchain technology.
Country Road manufactured the t-shirt range using Good Earth Cotton, grown in Moree, New South Wales. It was then knitted into fabric and cut, sewn and dyed at ABMT Apparel in Melbourne, Victoria.
The Country Road shirt is designed with a classic crew neck, dropped shoulder, back seam detail and a straight hem. Available in black, white, mocha and black stripe, it will retail at $89.95 and sold in-store and online from July 17.
Country Road MD Elle Roseby said the latest release is part of an ongoing commitment to traceability.
“Partnering with Good Earth Cotton and FibreTrace in the making of our men’s and women’s t-shirt strengthens Country Road’s commitment to responsible sourcing and traceability in the supply chain.
“Since 2019, we’ve proudly partnered with Oritain to verify the Australian origin of our verified Merino wool and cotton fibres, and we’re thrilled to introduce FibreTrace to expand on this commitment.”
