Country Road Group has appointed a new boss to manage its core Country Road brand temporarily following the exit of former managing director Elle Roseby.
Former Levi Strauss executive Nicolas Versloot has been appointed to the leading position in the interim until the group secures a long-term replacement.
Versloot is the former managing director of Levi’s Canada, holding the role from 2018 to 2023. He has since moved into the freelancing space as a business consultant.
The Australian Financial Review broke the story yesterday, with Country Road Group confirming the news with Ragtrader. The company declined to comment further.
The AFR also reported that former Gap executive Fred Lemoine has been appointed as the new chief sourcing and supply chain officer at Country Road.
The group - which manages five fashion brands including Country Road, Mimco, Politix, Trenery and Witchery - has fielded challenges this year including misconduct allegations that led to the launch of an independent review in June.
Woolworths Holdings Limited in South Africa, which owns Country Road Group, reported a 6.8 per cent loss across the group for the full financial year, driven by cost-of-living challenges matched with poor consumer sentiment regarding the economy.
Sales growth in the second half at Country Road Group declined by 11.3 per cent.
Country Road Group operates around 600 stores across Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
