Cotton On is working with Reconciliation Australia to formalise and publish its ‘REFLECT’ Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
The national retailer has supported First Nations-led programs in Australia since 2013, through its Cotton On Foundation program.
This includes The Mulka Art and Music Project, Djalkiri Pathways Program, Community Based Aboriginal Teacher Education (C-BATE) and Yirrkala School & Laynhapuy Homelands School.
Since 2006, Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs) have enabled organisations to sustainably and strategically take meaningful action to advance reconciliation.
The four RAP types – Reflect, Innovate, Stretch and Elevate – allow organisations to continuously develop their reconciliation commitments.
Reflect RAPs are for 12 months and are targeted at organisations new to reconciliation and unsure how to get started.
They set out steps to prepare your organisation for reconciliation initiatives in future RAPs.
Committing to a Reflect RAP means scoping and developing relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders, deciding on your vision for reconciliation and exploring your sphere of influence.
Nike Australia, Amazon Australia, The Iconic and Hanes are among fashion brands with Reflect RAPs.
