Cotton On Group CEO Peter Johnson has revealed to Ragtrader that the business aims to raise $3 million for UNICEF as part of its newest Cotton On Foundation fundraising campaign.
Cotton On Group's partnership with UNICEF was announced in May and sees the retailer support UNICEF to deliver 1 million COVID-19 vaccines to vulnerable communities in 90 countries across the globe.
However, Johnson said the business would be thrilled to raise more than the $3 million goal.
"We'd love to smash through a million vaccinations.
"The more money we raise the more vaccinations we will be able to distribute with UNICEF and we think the more the better.
"It shouldn't matter where you live or who you are, you should have access to this vaccination – everyone should have access to the choice to be vaccinated," he said.
The money will be raised through Cotton On Foundation products including tote bags and face masks, that latter of which are selling well in Victoria during lockdown, Johnson added.
"Our online business obviously does spike whenever our stores closed so we're really happy that we're seeing lots more traffic through online sites where you can buy Cotton On Foundation products.
"100% of the proceeds of our masks are going to the UNICEF program, and the lockdown in Victoria has seen a spike in our mask sales.
"The good news about that is every mask that that get purchased will equal about two to three vaccinations that will go to go to the community," he said.
Cotton On Group's UNICEF fundraising campaign began on May 20 and will end on July 04.
