Fashion brand Cotton On has revealed that 16-year-old Australian race car driver Joanne Ciconte is the brand’s newest ambassador.
The news comes days ahead of Ciconte’s debut with the Formula One Academy, a female-only racing championship, which kicks off with the 2025 series’ launch in Shanghai, China from March 21 to 23, 2025.
The 16-year-old Formula 4 driver has already amassed a racing career, including winning the Australian Karting Championship Pink Plate in 2023, and a finalist in the FIA Girls on Track Rising Stars.
The sponsorship will see Cotton On support Ciconte on- and off-track, including covering expenses on race days and in trainings, as well as custom outfits to wear trackside.
According to Ciconte, the partnership feels like an authentic alignment.
“I am thrilled to partner with Cotton On for my next chapter,” Ciconte said. “It’s surreal; I’ve always been a fan of their product – 80 per cent of my wardrobe is Cotton On – and now I’m part of the team.”
Ciconte has already been visiting Cotton On HQ to meet her team across womenswear, working with the design team to create her trackside wardrobe, and featuring in the brand’s new season product photoshoot at their in-house studio.
The latest backing from Cotton On follows other sporting partnerships, including with professional tennis player Thanasi Kokkinakis, Olympic boxer Tyla McDonald, and AFL star Bailey Smith.
Cotton On managing director of brands Bianca Ginns welcomed the partnership with Ciconte.
“She is an incredible athlete and an inspiration to so many young Australians – she embodies our brand values and we want to support that,” Ginns said.
“We’re so excited to work with this rising star and help amplify her profile and elevate her career.”
Cotton On is housed under Cotton On Group. The group manages eight brands, which also includes Factorie, Typo and Supre, and sells through over 1,500 stores operating in 22 countries, and employs 20,000 team members.
