Australian luxury retailer Cosette has appointed Don Grover as director of the company, effective October 31, 2024.

Prior to his appointment, Grover held an advisory role at Cosette for more than 17 months.

Cosette confirmed the news in a LinkedIn post, adding that he brings key skills and more than 45 years of experience in retail, luxury goods and operations. Grover’s previous roles include David Jones stores director, Dymocks CEO and Fusion Retail Brands CEO (Diana Ferrari, Jag).

“I believe in the business and its mission to make luxury goods available at affordable prices,” Grover said.

“Cosette has a tested and proven approach to sourcing that means that customers can be assured of the quality and authenticity of all product it sells. I am excited about working with the Cosette team to deliver the next phase of growth in Australia and overseas.”

Alongside his new role, Grover holds various other positions, including as director at GoGet Carshare and AFS Logistics.

The latest appointment at Cosette follows a year-long debacle for the retailer, as it faced over 1,000 complaints that claimed they were sold fake bags. Following a rigorous investigation by NSW Fair Trading, it was found that all the allegations were false.

During the investigation, Cosette closed its store in The Rocks, Sydney. The business is operating online.
