Global luxury platform Cettire has appointed Jonathan (Jon) Gidney as an independent non-executive director of the company, joining the board with immediate effect.

Gidney is an experienced corporate advisor with more than 30 years in the investment banking sector. He has held senior advisor and management roles with J.P. Morgan, Greenhill & Co and most recently as vice chairman – banking capital markets and advisory at Citi.

According to Cettire, Gidney has a strong financial background, a solid understanding of global capital markets and extensive corporate risk and governance expertise with a history of working with Australian and international boards on strategy, mergers and acquisitions and capital market transactions.

Gidney is currently a member of the Australian Takeovers Panel, senior advisor at Wilsons Advisory, non-executive director of FNZ (APAC) Group of Companies and a director of Australian financial services licensee at El Calamar Capital Pty Ltd.

He is also a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).

“Jon’s wealth of experience and focus on strategy, governance and risk aligns with the Board’s commitment to enhancing and ensuring the experience of the board, as a collective, is appropriate to meet the strategic objectives of the company and that Jon will make a significant contribution to the CTT Board,” chairman Bob East said.

The new board member comes as Cettire officially enters China’s mainland, and also comes after reporting an expected 70 per cent surge in annual revenue.

Despite the double-digit boom, Cettire’s share price tumbled to its lowest point late last month to as low as $1.06 from around $2.24. At the time of writing, Cettire’s share price is at $1.20.
