Gabby and Hezi Leibovich have joined the board of technology firm Shiperoo with the key goal of building a re-commerce platform selling various retail categories including fashion.

Shiperoo co-founder Nishan Wijemanne said the experience and mindset of the two co-founders of Catch aligns with Shiperoo’s mission to address the challenges of returns, end-of-season stock and excess inventory.

“Their track record of building successful online businesses and their commitment to tackling the pressing issues of excess stock and waste in the e-commerce industry make them invaluable additions to our board,” Wijemanne said.

“Combining their knowledge and skillsets with ours creates an enviable combination to tackle this growing industry problem head-on.”

As well as co-founding Catch, Gabby and Hezi also founded Scoopon and Eatnow (Menulog).

The pair are expected to build a new re-commerce arm in a bid to tackle sustainability and generating revenue opportunities for retailers. As well as fashion apparel, the re-commerce site is also anticipated to sell footwear, consumables, beauty, homeware and electronics.

“We have known Nish and Riz for a while now, so we know what we’re in for, that our values align and how we can complement their existing skillset,” Gabby said.

“We are excited to join them and work towards a future where the retail returns and reCommerce space can thrive without contributing to waste.

“Hezi and I believe that by leveraging technology, innovation, and new processes, we can create a more sustainable and efficient approach to managing returns and excess stock.

“The re-commerce space is filled with untapped potential. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, we can reduce waste and drive profitability for retailers. We look forward to tackling these challenges head-on with the two of them.”
