Global jeweller and watch brand Cartier has opened a new Sydney flagship Maison, housed at 388 George Street.
Australian artisans, including First Nations furniture brand Manapan, as well as Christopher Boots and Barbera and Diemme, were engaged in the design of the store.
The design of the two-level flagship takes inspiration from Australia, with the mesh facade a nod to Sydney Harbour and Bondi Beach.
Cartier also sourced a number of materials from Australia, in line with a new global initiative to localise store fitouts.
The building includes women's and men's sections, as well as a dedicated engagement universe and VIP lounges.
Cartier Oceania MD Alban du Mesnil said the opening marks the next phase of its local business.
“After enjoying a longstanding presence in Australia for more than 45 years, the opening of our new Sydney flagship marks a thrilling new chapter in the relationship between Cartier and Australians.
"The new Sydney flagship will embody Parisian elegance whilst paying tribute to Australia’s rich culture and natural beauty, featuring the savoir faire and style Cartier is renowned for around the world.
“We look forward to welcoming our clients and offering them a unique experience full of discovery.”
The Sydney store opens in line with its Rue De La Paix Paris flagship.
