Designer label Carla Zampatti has opened AFC Australian Fashion Week 2025 with a runway event on Sydney Harbour.
Held along the front of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Circular Quay, Carla Zampatti sent 60 styles down the runway to mark its 60th anniversary, in a collection called Ubiquity.
Of the 60 looks, 14 were exclusive designs by Australia’s leading fashion designers. This collaboration collection showcased work by Michael Lo Sordo, Pip Edwards, Toni Maticevski, Christopher Esber, Romance Was Born, Gail Sorronda, Kit Willow, Akira Isogawa, Iordanes Spyridon Gogos, Alix Higgins, Grace Lillian Lee, Mariam Seddiq, Beare Park, and Bianca Spender.
Each designer contributed their own interpretation of Carla Zampatti’s legacy. These pieces will be donated to the Powerhouse Museum as part of their permanent collection of Australian designers.
“We wanted to make a bold statement to mark our 60th anniversary,” Carla Zampatti CEO Alexander Schuman said. “This brand has become part of Australia’s fashion story, shaped by the extraordinary women who wear our designs and the creative community we’re proud to work alongside.
“As a second-generation fashion house, it’s an honour to celebrate this legacy while recognising that it has always been a shared one, built in collaboration, and carried forward together.”
The event was supported by 10 partners, including Fairfax & Roberts which offered jewellery pieces such as bangles and necklaces for the runway models, as well as Edward Meller which provided footwear.
Hair was done by O&M, with Lancôme providing beauty and skincare direction. Other partners and sponsors included Range Rover, Westpac, Shark Beauty, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, Memobottle and FAQ by FOREO.
