Australian uniform supplier Cargo Crew has appointed Matt Blashki as its new CEO effective September 9, 2024.
Blashki holds nearly 20 years of experience within the fashion and retail space, most recently as the general manager of uniforms and operations at Workwear Group under Wesfarmers.
The fashion executive began his career in planning and business management at Myer, followed by Country Road Group where he managed both the Country Road brand and Mimco. He later joined The PAS Group as group GM, where he led the Jets and Review businesses before his most recent stint at Workwear Group.
“It is a privilege to be joining the Cargo Crew team,” Blashki said. “Cargo Crew is such a well-respected brand in the uniform sector, delivering modern uniform ranges and solutions. I look forward to working with the team to deliver on our exciting growth and innovation strategies.”
Cargo Crew founder and CEO Felicity Rodgers welcomed Blashki to the team.
“We are thrilled to have someone of Matt’s calibre and background taking us to the next level,” Rodgers said. “His deep experience across retail operations, local and international sales teams, merchandise planning, sourcing and supply chain is going to super-charge the next phase of our growth story.”
The appointment of Blashki as CEO follows the recent partnership with growth equity firm Glow Capital in 2023. Cargo Crew cited global growth ambitions after a successful launch into North America in recent months.
“We will continue to focus on driving further growth both here in Australia and within our burgeoning North American market,” Rodgers continued. “With a clear strategy on deepening our existing industry segments, whilst building new product categories to extend the breadth of our offering, Matt is joining Cargo Crew at a transformational time in our journey.”
