Australian-born clothing brand Bonds will launch the second iteration of its babywear swap event this weekend in Sydney, where parents can trade their pre-owned Zippy bodysuits for new outfits and connect with the other local parents.

Each attendee is able to bring up to 10 Bonds Zippy’s to trade in for ‘Bonds Bucks’, which can then be used to obtain other pre-owned Zippys brought by other attendees. Participants must pre-register for the event.

Bonds will also bring new season items to the event, and will bring back past season prints and collaborations. Any pre-owned Zippy that remains 'unsold' on the day will be donated to non-profit organisation GIVIT.

Parents can bring any size Zip Wondersuit from 000 to 4, and all Zippys will be inspected for cleanliness and quality on the day. There will also be children’s clothing from size 4-6 available to buy with Bonds Bucks.

The first iteration of this event was held in Melbourne in July last year, with Bonds marketing manager Liz Coburn saying it was very well-received.

“We had heaps of engagement from our community of parents requesting it to come to their hometown, and we are so excited to bring it back, this time to Sydney,” Coburn said. “We’ll have plenty of freebies on the day, including goodies from Gro-To, coffee, nibbles and some epic play areas to keep the kiddos entertained.

“The Zippy Swap Meet allows us to connect with and get to know our community in a totally new way. Our customers are really tapped in and love to pass down their pre-loved Zippys.

“This event allows us to celebrate this total fandom of our product whilst extending the lifespan of them, committing to a more sustainable future and connecting like-minded local parents at the same time.”

This weekend’s event will be held at La Porte in Rosebery, from 9am to 1pm.
